Slower reaction time

You're unable to react to unexpected events on the road quickly, correctly or safely.

Impaired steering control

You're unable to safely control your car using your steering wheel, so your car may drift.

Poor concentration

You can't focus on the task of driving and are easily distracted by less important things.

Sleepiness / Severe tiredness

You're in danger of falling asleep at the wheel because you're tired. You're also unable to react quickly, concentrate, or take notice of your surroundings.

Increased risk taking

You take risks that you wouldn't otherwise take, and you don't realise that they're unnecessarily dangerous.

Over confidence

You feel you're invincible on the road and because of this you take unnecessary risks, even though you don't realise it

Confused thinking

You're unable to think straight. Therefore, you're not as good as you usually are at judging distances and speed.

Distorted perception

You're unable to see, hear, smell or touch accurately, so you're not able to accurately understand the meaning of road signs or take notice of your surroundings.

Poor control

You don't have the same degree of control over your actions when driving, so you're not able to get out of difficult situations on the road as efficiently as you usually can.

Impaired coordination

You find it difficult to do several common tasks at the same time, such as safely steering your car, changing gears and checking mirrors.

Short term memory loss

You're unable to remember things from the recent past easily, concentrate or anticipate things when driving.

Erratic behaviour

Your behaviour becomes unexpected or unpredictable causing you to take unnecessary risks.

Paranoia

You feel persecuted causing you to act in an unexpected manner.

Enlarged pupils

You're unable to see or focus properly, as your pupils are too open for the lighting conditions.

Auditory hallucinations

You hear voices (that aren't there) which distract you from driving.

Blurred vision

You're unable to see clearly or focus, as your vision is misty or distorted.

Anxiety

You feel apprehensive, uncertain and fearful without any apparent reason. This distracts you from driving.

Nausea

You're distracted from driving and unable to concentrate because you feel sick.

Aggression

You feel hostile and destructive, so you may take unnecessary risks when driving.

Visual hallucinations

You're confused and distracted from driving as you see things that aren't really there.

Tremors

Your body trembles or shakes, affecting your ability to safely control your car.

Terrifying thoughts and feelings

You experience frightening thoughts or feel very scared. This distracts you from driving and causes you to behave in an unexpected manner or take unnecessary risks.

Restless

You find it difficult to stay still or concentrate on driving, so you may behave in an unexpected manner or take unnecessary risks.

Panic attacks

You experience extreme and unreasonable fear and anxiety, which distracts and prevents you from driving as safely as you usually do.

Dizziness

You find it difficult to concentrate on driving or take notice of your surroundings because you feel lightheaded and unsteady.

Cramps

Your muscles contract painfully causing you to have difficulty controlling your car.
